Staying True to Our Roots

At Volition, we’ve always chosen to stay humble and off the radar. While others chase hype, we’ve focused on engineering, integrity, and rider experience.

Yes — some of our bikes are over the road legal power limits, and that’s precisely why we’ve never been loud on social media (2017-2025 June). We knew it was smarter to operate discreetly, refine our machines, and focus on our loyal customers. In contrast, some brands have taken a different path — aggressively promoting overpowered e-bikes with no regard for regulations or safety.

The Fat Tyre Story: What Really Happened

In 2019, we had a partnership with a Chinese factory called Bao Gui Lai (宝贵来). At one point, they offered us the opportunity to join them in building fat tyre e-bikes. After reviewing their proposal and technical protocol, we rejected the offer due to quality and compliance concerns.

Later, a Queensland-based company — Ampd B**— took the same offer. By 2022 (approx.), a senior manager from Bao Gui Lai left and co-founded a new factory. As a result, Ampd B** had to redesign their shocks and other components due to loss of access to original parts and tooling.

Once Ampd B** parted ways with Bao Gui Lai, another group — Fat B** — began sourcing leftover stock from the original factory and launched their own brand with heavy social media marketing, despite the fact that all their models exceed legal limits in every Australian state.

In 2023–2024, an American company working with the same factory folded, leaving behind excess inventory. A new Sydney-based company — Flight R*** — took over that stock and began reselling nearly identical models under a different name.

The Copycat Boom 😅

Since then, you can now see literally 20 companies selling exactly the same bike — just rebranded.

Names like:
True North
Stator
Cruzer
Mamber

… and the list goes on.

Same frame. Same motor. Same story. Different sticker. 🙃

Our Position

We’ve watched all of this unfold. Quietly. Purposefully.
We’re engineers, not influencers. We could’ve joined the noise, but we chose the long game. We chose innovation, reliability, and community trust.

As always, we’ll keep doing what we do best — building great bikes and letting our work speak for itself.
