Time goes by.

Sometimes it feels like the electric bike industry is becoming saturated with profit seeking resellers.

We also see governments trying to regulate every part of our lives. Somehow, the idea that people should need a licence to ride a 25 km/h electric bike has gone so far that it almost suggests ordinary people can’t be trusted to ride responsibly. Meanwhile, millions of people around the world ride the same class of e-bike every day without needing a driver’s licence.

We see more and more riders becoming scared.

That shouldn’t be what the future of electric bikes looks like.

Electric bikes were never meant to divide people. They were meant to bring freedom. A simple, affordable and enjoyable way to get around. We all wish we had something like this when we were younger. We wish our parents had the chance to ride with us. We wish more kids today could share that same experience.

Unfortunately, a few public idiots have managed to damage the reputation of an entire community.

The truth is, most e-bike riders are good people.

Some ride to work. Some ride with their children. Some ride because it gives them independence. For others, an electric bike might be the only thing that puts a smile on their face after a hard day.

Don’t let a few people define all of us.

Keep pedalling.

Keep showing respect to pedestrians, cyclists and everyone else on the road.

The future of the electric bike community depends on all of us.

Ride well.

Ride responsibly.

That is VOLITION.
