It’s not the ordinary Bafang M400 (250W) you may see on other bikes. Volition’s boosted up the power by 100% ! Now the motor pumps up more than 110N.m of torque and 1000watts of power! We have also added the throttle in the system; a world exclusive for M400. The motor is now capable hitting up to 45kmh with some minimal pedalling effort.
The mid-drive motor measures sensors at pedals at a frequency of up to 80k Hz via a torque sensor and two speed sensors. The result is that “the harder you push , the more power you get from the motor”. The M400 Drive System puts the rider in complete control. In spite of the power, the motor operates in virtual silence. We believe that the M400 is the quietest motor we have ever tested against all other motors out there
Our Batteries (measured in Wh) are greater than most e.bikes out there. It is important to know when comparing e.bikes that the cost of the battery often accounts for 40% of an e.bike’s price. If those 400wh/500wh battery e.bikes are “studios”, our 910wh/1000wh bikes are “penthouses”. Dollar for dollar or Wh for Wh, our e.bikes easily offer the most amount of value.
Another thing sets us apart is that we “map” & engineered our own batteries. Most batteries use similar cells such as Samsung, Sony… etc which we can not make them any better ourselves. The performance difference is achieved in how they (up to 70 cells) are assembled; from the quality of materials to the welding & protection of the cells. Our team visited the factory in China and made our own assembly & quality protocols so each battery is made to our highest safety and performance standard.

Yes. Couple with the powerful 90Nm Torque mid drive motor, Shimano Nexus provides a gear ratio of 186%. Low for climbing. Neutral for Cruising. High for downhill.
Yes. You can with the un-restricted version only. The throttle works like a mini e-moped ; but it’s not recommended to use the throttle only to take off nor for an extensive long periods of time. It is an e-bicycle after all.
E.Bike batteries should last up to 5 years before dropping to the 50% of the original capacity or even lower. The “best” period is the first 2 – 3 years.
Depends on the brand. We recommend the Schwalbe Smart Sam ($29 additional per tyre/ fitted) which is an allrounder trail tyre that can also do well on the road. Please email us after the order is placed, we will send you a separate invoice 🙂
We designed the bike to be “one size fits most”; low seat post & long reach with the different options of stems & seat post lengths. Based on the customer feedback, ST is suitable for 155cm – 188cm riders.
No. Volition E-Bike Australia is a factory to consumer / direct sale manufacturer based in Sydney. We actively try to hammer down the price to be the lowest possible.
Most parts are just regular bike parts. You could get help from any bike store. If you are experiencing any electrical issue, we can remotely diagnose the issue and send the replacement. We could also arrange a courier pick up and have it serviced in Sydney.
