This motor (Bafang G510) is monstrous with nearly 4 times more power than a standard Bosch or Shimano motor. The bike is capable of doing 50kmh without breaking a sweat. We also have worked on our own firmware eMTB 2.0 for nearly 2 years. We did our own programming with countless of hours spent on the trails to perfect the power delivery.
This mid-drive motor measures sensors at pedals at a frequency of up to 80k Hz via a torque sensor and two speed sensors. The result is that “the harder you push , the more power you get from the motor”.
Our batteries are greater than all e.MTB bikes out there. Up to 910wh of battery energy is almost twice more than most e.bikes’ 500wh battery. To ensure the removing and installing of the battery is only a 3 secs job, we have chosen the external battery design.
The more powerful the motor is, the better the battery has to be (to handle the power demand). We have “mapped” & engineered our own batteries in Australia.

Yes. You can with the un-restricted version only. The throttle works like a mini e-moped ; but it’s not recommended to use the throttle only to take off nor for an extensive long periods of time. It is an e-bicycle after all.
E.Bike batteries should last up to 5 years before dropping to the 50% of the original capacity or even lower. The “best” period is the first 2 – 3 years.

Most parts are just regular bike parts. You could get help from any bike store. If you are experiencing any electrical issue, we can remotely diagnose the issue and send the replacement. We could also arrange a courier pick up for your bike and have it serviced in Sydney.

VOLITION has successfully developed a wireless module to cut off the controller power with our partner in Japan and Bafang China. Without the remote, the thieves wouldn’t be able to turn on the bike thus the bike would have no re-sale value. The module is embedded in the motor system. Riders can lock and unlock the controller wirelessly within 10 meters.
What is an E.bike battery ?

What determines the power level of an e.bike is mostly the controller & battery; not necessary the motor. The controller draws the current. The battery holds the charge (voltage). The broad conclusion is that the higher the voltage, the more powerful the e.bike is
This is why that you will notice the power is decreasing as the battery holds less and less energy during the use. And a freshly charged battery is in its the most “potent” stage
Watt.Hour = Range
The misconception is that ampere.hour (Ah) is the battery duration. Watt Hour (Wh) is in fact the size for a battery. In an approx. estimation, you can travel 10km for every 100wh on a mixed levels of power and an arrange of terrain. Our numbers are real world figures based on customers’ feedback not imaginative.
Like all things, batteries vary significantly in quality and engineering. Some are just unsafe and scary. Firstly, the battery cells are not made equal. Cells are “farmed” and there are Grade AAA and all the way down to Grade C. The prices vary drastically. Unfortunately, almost all highest grade battery cells are grabbed by car manufacturers in their exclusive deals. Premium E.bike batteries are made from Grade A or A- or B+. Cheap batteries tend to use lower grades of cells that tend to die prematurely or the power is lackluster. One analogy is that if a restaurant wants the best grade of vegetables from the farms, it has to pay for it.
Batteries are made lots of cells. How they are stacked together determines its duration in real world use and safety. One could assume the longer time the production line spends on a battery , the better & safe the battery is. We have our strict instructions and protocols for how our batteries are assembled in our partner factory. We make sure that we are taking our time making each and every single battery we sell. Sadly, we have seen countless of extremely unsafe batteries from people looking for a cheap battery online.
One common question we get is that should I care about how I am charging the battery. Modern (our) e.bike batteries have BMS computer board inside to regulate the discharge and discharge and prevent over charging and over-use. It also balances the voltage level of each cell. The answer is “no need & just charge it when you feel like”
Charger determines the speed of charging. Fast charging is convenient. But it decreases the longevity of the battery because the “charging” is in fact putting the stress on the battery cells. The faster the charging, the more stress the cells have to bear. If you are not in a huge hurry, a 3 or 5amps charger will do the job just fine.
Note. This is the standard information about G510 motor. Volition re-tunes and re-programs the motor.
